CALL FOR ARTISTS: Celebrating Diversity & Inclusion!

On behalf of the JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion) committee, we invite you to participate in an art contest leading up to the spring meeting.  Express the beauty of inclusivity through your art. Capture the essence of diverse cultures, identities, perspectives, and the harmonious blend that brings us together.  We invite artists of all backgrounds to showcase their vision of what diversity and inclusion mean through their art!

Submission deadline: March 10th


  •    Contest is open to any AERS member to participate
  •     Accepted mediums are any that can be translated to a digital image.  This includes paintings, drawings, poetry, short stories, sculpture, photography and more.  We invite you to bring the original artwork to display at the meeting, but the submission must be in digital form.
  •    Artworks must be original and your creative idea – AI artworks are not eligible
  •  Participation is free, but you must agree that AERS can use your artwork image in various print/digital media.  This includes the Spring 2024 scientific program, our website, social media, etc.
  • Winner(s) will be selected by the JEDI committee as the featured artist and will be recognized at the AERS business meeting with a cash prize

  • Promote Unity: Inspire others with your artwork and contribute to a more inclusive world.
  • Win Great Prizes: Get rewarded for your creativity and passion!


  1. Create your artwork based on the theme.
  2. Snap a high-quality photo or scan your creation.
  3. Submit your entry via this secure drop box with a brief description of your piece and your last name in the title.  If you wish to explain your work further than a few sentences, please feel free to submit a word document as well with that information.  Please make sure your name is included on all submissions

Want to support AERS student travel?  Consider donating your artwork to the Silent Auction!  Allow people to show their appreciation for your work by bidding to take it home.  All proceeds from the Silent Auction go to support our student endowment fund, with provides support to attend AERS and CERF conferences through travel grants and to students conducting novel research through an (in-development) small research grant.
